I tried the route of bypassing BT router by turning everything in that router off and using it as a wan port to my TP-link router so only link is lan to wan connection and wan out to internet. You can't turn off the Smart setup of smart hub because all it does it reboot router
wifi from tp-link using port forwarding works great and internet stays on, but that smart setup must be the random rebooting causing issue with skyQ
Smart setup no longer exists on the Smart Hub. It was permanently disabled by the last firmware update.
It does show up as smart setup but then changes to reboot
There is no smart setup. Can you post a screenshot
Do you mean Smart Wireless? If so, you can select channels manually but you need to save the changes.
Sorry if I sound like a tech but I have spent years setting up routers and internet and electrics as i am an electrician engineer 30+ years and was doing it before you even had a pc
I very much doubt that, but hey ho.
@licquoriceI believe you can still turn off smart this way.
If you log on as admin enter the password then open another browser tag and use this link http://192.168.1.254/smart_setup.htm
You can turn it on/off there
Yes, but it is off by default and not visible under normal access.
I suspect that @Mrlewisuk is referring to Smart Wireless rather than Smart Setup but doesn't like to admit it.
If I had the info I would build a modem but but would need the coding from openreach to connect with BT. I can build a pc no problem,
most don't change the security login on routers
