I have just been switched to Digital Voice and I am using True Call BT 8600 handsets.
I have Call Guardian switched ON.
When I phone my LANDLINE from my Moby, I am advised that the call is being screened by BT CALL GUARDIAN asked to say my name and enter # KEY.
I am already on my LANDLINE Contact List but the message showing on LANDLINE is “INCOMING CALL ANNOUNCED CALL”
When the call from the Moby is answered on the LANDLINE, I am offered to PRESS 1 to accept the call or 4 to send it to ANSWERPHONE, or I can HANG UP.
Pre Digital Voice, I was offered enter 1 to ACCEPT CALL ONCE, 2 to ACCEPT CALL ALWAYS, 3 to BLOCK CALL.
Although my CONTACTS and VIPS are still showing on my Handset, they appear to be ignored.
So my question is: “Is my BT 8600 True Call phone now obsolete and are there any handsets that can accept CONTACTS always under the DIGITAL VOICE regime?”
I suspect this is the common issue of caller ID not being enabled, so it's being handles as a withheld number. Turn Guardian off & see if your mobile number is being shown. You may need to enable caller ID in My BT or, if it's already showing as enabled, disable it & re-enable.
I agree with caller ID is likely to be the culprit here or lack of. You can manage this online I believe or call BT and they can either add it back on or get it fixed if its not working
