Digital voice service

I  have a digital voice phone plugged into a Smart hub2 and have fibre to the cabinet broadband.

Will it still work after January next year? I could change to fttp if I wanted to as it is available locally but currently I am happy with the existing set up.

I have a newish wireless digital phone and an old phone that works with a BT adapter. I have been told  that neither will work without fttp.

Re: Digital voice service

your current setup will work perfectly well come January. However you may find that when you come to renewal that you need to move to FTTP as you may have a priority exchange where openreach want users to move to FTTP.   the package cost is exactly the same whether on FTTC or FTTP

Re: Digital voice service

Thank you for clarifying. Yes the exchange is a priority one. I probably will move to fttp soon but just wanted to confirm that the current set up would work if I didn’t.

Re: Digital voice service

Just to clarify, Digital Voice phones don't plug in anywhere, they connect to the DECT base station built into the hub.

Either you have a cordless base station or standard analogue phone plugged into the hub.

Either way, they will continue to work as now.

Re: Digital voice service

Thanks. Yes it is wireless and ‘tuned in’ to the hub. The old phone has an BT adapter that is tuned to the hub.
