Do I need a smart hub 2

Go to solution

I need to upgrade to digital voice.

However, i do NOT need to continue with my handset.

I currently have a smart hub 6, so do I still need a smart hub 2 even if i disconnect my handset ?

Don't understand the question, do you want a phone service or not?

no, just the broadband. I never use the handset anymore, and just want the broadband working.

So you don't need Digital Voice then, that is just the phone service.

You can have broadband without Digital Voice

yes. Does it mean i can just unplug the handset and carry on as I am , without the bother of installing a new modem etc ?

Logic says this is so.

Of course, but the hub you have been sent belongs to BT and they will want it back if you leave so don't sell it or throw it away

Are you upgrading your existing package to FTTP - fibre to the home? If not unsure why you want digital voice

Re: Do I need a smart hub 2

nothing just connect the the cable the same as HH6  you may want to change the SH2 SSID and password to that of the HH6 so that your wifi devices will connect automatically instead of having to go round all wifi devices making change
