Do any of the DECT phones have call guardian like the old BT 8500

I currently have Digital voice and my old BT 8500 connected into the hub. Think maybe it's time to upgrade the old answerphone and get a DECT one but do any have the call blocking capabilities of the old BT 8500 which works pretty much perfectly for me blocking nuisance calls but has issues with not catching calls before DV takes the first ring.

Not entirely clear what your issue is, can you elaborate?

You say you want to replace the 8500 with DECT, but the 8500 is DECT.

Having said that, all but he very cheapest BT DECT phones have the same Call Guardian feature as your 8500. But they seem to have dropped that description. I'd suggest Googling for the manual  for a set you're interested in & look for this on the front page.

The BT 8500 isn't DECT , it was discontinued years ago

I'll take a look at the newer tru call ones, see if they have the same capabilities. Most didn't seem to have the numerous options the BT8500 for dealing with spam callers

I suspect you're maybe confused around terminology, the 8500 is very much DECT, as are all cordless phones made in the last 20+ years. My first set of DECT phones were purchased in 1997.

Some BT phones only have Call Blocking based on numbers, which in the age of spoofing is next to useless. Anything with the TrueCall logo should have close tot he same options.

But you still haven't elaborated on what your issue is.

Possibly , but it certainly won't connect to my BT Hub wirelessly

The handsets almost certainly will, but only as dumb devices. The Call Guardian is a function of the base station, as is the contact list, which just needs to be plugged into the SH2.  The same applies to any DECT set you purchase.

If you want handsets made for the SH2 then you need one of BT's DV handsets. But they won't give you call screening.

I'm not going to keep asking what the actual issue is & receive no response, so I'll bow out now.
