Does (free) Essential Voicemail with Call Protect include a message answering/recording function?

I'm being asked to renew my existing package with recommendations and see that the Voicemail with CP at £4.34/month includes a 'larger' mailbox.  I don't need a large mailbox.  It is unclear whether Essential Voicemail with CP (free) includes a mailbox at all.  I don't receive many or long messages so would be happy with a small mailbox and save £4.34/month.  Retentions team didn't know teh answer and referred me to sales team who had a long queue....

With that call feature you will be able to get voicemails left for you but I believe you wouldn't be able to record a specific greeting.

I'm with EE now but when with BT I was able to record my own message and get texts when a message was left for me.

I finally got through to sales and they confiirmed that there is indeed a 'smaller' voicemail box free/included with Unlimited Calls (Call Protect also included).  Wouldn't it be wonderful if the BT site and 'offers' could be set out straightforwardly!  Thank you for taking the time to reply to my query.
