FTTP with Openreach modem (ONT) Telephone from ONT (Why change if already digital)

For 6 years I have had FTTP with Openreach modem (ONT) with the telephone circuit linked to ONT with battery backup. BT is now claiming to be changing me from analogue to digital but there is no analogue. I'm happy the way it works and even if there is a power failure my phones can still work and I get to use my own router. Can someone please explain why they are trying to force me to change?

Re: FTTP with Openreach modem (ONT) Telephone from ONT (Why change if already digital)

Because that is a now defunct system operated by Openreach (FVA) that is being closed down. Digital voice is an entirely separate system operated by BT.
