HD VOICE landline unobtainable tone

We had HD VOICE installed a week ago on 26th May.We can dial out , but only mobiles can dial in to us. Anyone trying to dial our landline from their landline just gets the unobtainable tone.  We were told on more than one occasion that our order was still showing as “open“ and that once the order was “closed“ the problem would be solved! Needless to say this has not happened. We have phoned in to BT on several occasions , each time you get a different agent that takes you through all the checks yet again! Apparently now our case, which you can track online ( only you can’t because the website is under maintenance ) has been passed on to a specialist engineer who won’t be able to get to us until 9th June due to the bank holiday! What on earth are BT playing at ! I also paid my line rental in advance at the beginning of the year!

Re: HD VOICE landline unobtainable tone

Are the people dialling you  that can't get through using the full dialling code as well as the number, as you would with a mobile?

Re: HD VOICE landline unobtainable tone

Was your number originally a ‘BT’ number or another company’s number ported in , did you join BT from another company at the same time as getting DV or were you a BT customer getting your regular phone service successfully,  and we’re moved onto DV with no say in the matter ?,
Are these landline calls from other operators customers ( like Sky and Talk Talk for example ) , do you know anyone with BT ( either regular or DV ) can they get through ?
Its obviously upto BT to investigate this as your provider , but it’s possible the problem is with the way other companies are routing their outgoing traffic , it’s worthwhile getting a list of companies that are failing to connect their customer to you to help localise where the issue may be …if you have issues with other BT customers though, that obviously is BT’s issue to sort out.

Re: HD VOICE landline unobtainable tone

Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to reply. We’ve been with BT for as long as I can remember. Friends who couldn’t get through using their landlines were Sky & BT users ,both could get our landline using their mobiles. One family member whose mobile & landline are EE couldn’t get through using either. After reading similar posts on this forum I’m not hopeful!
