You will need a BT Digital Voice handset to disable multi call.
The DV handset also has a built in menu options for call divert which may be the reason for your problem if you are using a normal DECT handset to initiate the diversion.

Thanks for this.
So I would need to buy a BT handset to ensure the settings are maintained, that's a shame.
It is strange though, especially as the way I configured it was via the old method that appears to still work: *21* [enter telephone answering number] #
Can you just borrow a handset from someone to disable multi call and enable call diversion.

Unfortunately not, I don't know anyone with one.
Amazon do corded phones starting at £7.
@gg30340 It's a DV phone that is required.
Do they not work if plugged into the rear of the SH2.

Noted. I just skimmed through without taking it in.
Hi @licquorice
The Call Divert has stopped working again, tried it within the last hour and when I ring it from a different phone, it does not ring, just does beep beep beep continuously. So this time the settings were retained for around 24 hours.
If you could contact a mod, I would be grateful, otherwise I'll get a second hand BT phone and do the multi call thing you mentioned before.
Thanks again for your help.
