According to the Manual for the Decor 2500, if an incoming call goes to the answer machine and the caller leaves a message, then the caller can be heard doing this over the loudspeaker so you can decide whether to pick up or not. Same practice on my current phone.
I can find no mention of this facility in the Manual for the Decor 2600. Does anyone know if it behaves in the same way and they simply forget to mention it, or does it in fact remain silent while the message is being recorded?
Page 1 of the manual (call screening)
That's different from the downloaded User Manual, but regardless it doe snot answer my question 😞
It says - in the final part of the first page - that calls can be sent to the answer machine. Fine, but - can you hear what is being recorded at the time ???
In your original post, you asked: "...call goes to the answer machine and the caller leaves a message, then the caller can be heard doing this over the loudspeaker so you can decide whether to pick up or not.
Surely that question is answered?

The BT Advanced Call Blocker screens incoming calls:
o Numbers on your contact list get straight through
o Numbers you have blocked are rejected (selected by user)
For all other calls the Advanced Call Blocker asks the caller to say their name and then asks the
user whether they want to accept or block the call without speaking to the caller

From which I take it that the question is answered
Sorry, but NO.
That applies only if Call Blocking is turned on. If you leave it off then calls go to the answer machine.
