Just switched to DV

Go to solution

I have just set up my Graphite 2500 linked to the adapter and everything is working and it rings for an incoming call showing the caller id. All phone contacts are stored on the phone.but I have read these now need to be entered into the hub but there is no feature to enable that .

The hub shows service status ready and when I click on that I get the manager page showing the phone number, status, service registration and the handset and adapter showing as registered. When I go to the contacts page I am presented with either Export or Import. There is no facility to add a number at all   - is this a problem as I understood contacts have to be stored on the hub not the phone or have I got things wrong.

You don't need to have contacts on the hub unless you are using the Digital Voice handsets which were originally provided by BT.

If you do have such handsets, you should export the contacts to a file in case your hub is replaced or reset.

As explained, the contacts that are stored in the hub are only relevant if using BT Digital Voice handsets. The contacts are entered via those handsets although it is far quicker to just enter one contact via the handset and then export the contact from the hub and use that as a template to enter further contacts with a text editor and import the list back to the hub
