Land-line and broadband down, lifeline not working

I use an emergency lifeline button and my broadband and land-line have been down now for over 36 hours. I had an engineer visit booked between 8-1 this morning but apparently they didn't do anything. I just rang up now to find out that it looks like noone bothered to turn up. Fortunately another engineer is booked for tomorrow morning, but I am apprehensive that the same thing will happen. I've not had any updates on todays repair. I took a fall earlier today and had to drag myself along the floor because the lifeline didn't work. I have barely any mobile signal so my land-line is my lifeline. How can this be allowed to happen? I am so angry and upset! I've never had any issues before, but when it goes wrong it is catastrophic! Why didn't the engineer fix this earlier? What can I do? The guys on the phone are helpless, but I need an update as to whether it can be fixed or not because otherwise I will need to be put into hospital. Can anyone help?

I assume you have digital voice if your landline is down as well as your broadband or is there a problem in your area with landlines?

Are you registered with BT as a vulnerable person and get priority repairs?

Hi. I think I am, I'm not sure to be honest. I've reached out on twitter as well. I don't want to sound like a Karen, but I am very scared and anxious because I have no way of contacting anyone. My mobile network is very poor, I can barely get any 3g signal, and calling 999 is awful as I get such bad reception. It's NEVER been an issue before. BT has always been so reliable until today. I feel thoroughly let down.

Sorry, yes it is digital. No faults I am aware of. Not according to the BT fault checker, none reported.

As I suspected, the Twitter rep says nothing can be done. I need to know if the engineer knows what the issue is so they will be able to fix it. With the b/h weekend and strikes planned, I will need to go into hospital if they can't fix it. Did anyone even go out today as planned? Noone seems to be able to tell me, and noone on the phone is feeling very helpful anymore.

Hi @morrit, welcome to the forum and I'm sorry that you've been left without broadband and can fully understand your situation.
