Re: Landline phone cuts off when answered

Although a card swap is certainly possible, that requires whatever the current name of BT TSO ( technical service and operations ) to change the card, and more expedient method is as already described, the ‘circuit’ is ceased from its current location and then immediately re provided ar a different location, ( on another line circuit) the CSE customer service engineer then only needs to ‘rejumper’ the ‘line’ to whatever the new location allocated is ….this ought to be possible with a call to the DCoE ,who change the allocated equipment, but as stated , if a CSE can replicate / demonstrate the problem , why haven’t they done something about it , there is an arguable demarcation issue between Openreach and TSO , but re-jumpering  a new line circuit is commonplace and within the scope of a CSE

@iniltous Ah, okay.  It sort of makes sense doing it that way given the scarcity of exchange technicians. If that is indeed the case. It also means that the exchange equipment hardware can be left  untouched. Which, given its age,  is probably best.
