Lost Caller Display when Call Protect was activated

My 84 year old mum has had a basic BT landline package for years with BT.  She is terminally unwell and lives alone, so she is vulnerable. More recently she has been experiencing spam calls. So to help her I had already added her key contacts so she can identify callers through caller display but also decided to ask BT to activate Call Protect to help reduce nuisance calls. I called BT last Friday and explained our situation and Call Protect was activated. But unknown to me this meant that Caller Display was removed from her account. So now she cannot identify any calls at all, the display just says Incoming Call. I Phoned BT today and after being referred to 3 different people, I eventually spoke to someone helpful who explained that her package meant that CD was removed when CP was added and that CD can no longer be reinstated on her account. To me that defeats the whole mission to help my vulnerable mother who is experiencing difficult health issues. Please can someone get back to me to let me know if CD can be re-added as a single feature without having to take out a new package And if not why? Why wasn’t I informed that this feature would be removed, particularly knowing our situation about nuisance calls. Really really frustrated and so disappointed with lack of support from BT.

Call protect and caller display are two very different features and I don't see a reason why they both can't be added.

I would call again and speak to the technical team and they should sort it if not then escalate the complaint to a Manager but that really should not be needed hope you get it sorted

Welcome to the community.

I cannot find anything to say that you can't have Call Protect and Caller display at the same time. I'd definitely recommend following @Manatarms84's advice above.

It may also be worth trying to order Caller Display through your BT Online account.

You should be able to enable Caller Display yourself in MyBT > Your Products.

If it's already showing enabled, disable it, log off & then re-enable.
