Malfunctioning BT4600 handset

One BT 4600 handset doesn’t work. If you press Green it says “playing” and then plays a message from 14 Feb pm and doesn’t let you do anything else. I have removed the batteries and put them back and nothing changes. Cannot see how to reset the handset. The other handset is working perfectly.

Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.

The first thing to do is to power down the base unit for about a minute, so the handset link is re-initialised.

If that does not fix the problem, then try the helpdesk.

Thanks for the reply. It didn’t work - it still goes straight to the old answerphone message. I will ring the product helpline, thanks.

That also doesn’t work. I cannot access the menu. If you press any button it goes to the answerphone message.

Thanks to the product helpline who confirmed it has malfunctioned and replacement handset has been ordered
