Missed Calls

So this is a strange one but maybe you experts can help….

I’ve recently switched to full fibre 100 which has come with BT Digital Voice and a free advanced handset.

Aside from having some ongoing problems with the order not being closed down everything is okay but there’s one thing that’s annoying me and I can’t seem to work out what’s going on.

Whenever I receive a call to my mobile (not with ee or bt) it will always show as a missed call on my bt digital voice phone display. It doesn’t ring and I wouldn’t expect it to as people call my mobile. Now this happens if I answer the call on my mobile or not, it always shows as a missed call on the landline display.

I’ve tested calling the landline and it works absolutely fine, if I don’t answer it correctly shows a missed call but this issue is the other way round which is really strange!

So any ideas at all in how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Missed Calls

That is totally weird and no idea how that can happen.

Are you using WiFi calling when this happens?

The only thing I can think of is although DV uses DECT rather than WiFi,  the hub is somehow getting confused between an incoming DV call and a WiFi calling call.

Re: Missed Calls

🤔

What tones do you hear and/or what messages/notifications (if any) do you receive when you call your mobile from your landline?

Re: Missed Calls

I suppose turning off WiFi calling on the mobile , then observing if an incoming call to the mobile, forced to use the mobile network rather than WiFi still shows as a missed call on DV….I suspect this will be the case , do other mobiles that connect to the WiFi also show missed calls on the DV handset or just the one ?

Re: Missed Calls

Has call forwarding been set up at any time from your home phone to mobile or vice versa?

Re: Missed Calls

Yes I use wifi calling as the mobile signal is virtually non existent unless hanging out the front window. I’ll perhaps try turning it off to see if it makes a difference.

Re: Missed Calls

Everything works as expected when making calls from the landline to my mobile. It’s literally when my wife called my mobile it showed up on my landline as a missed call even though I answered it on my mobile. I have to use wifi calling at home as the mobile signal is non existent but I’m going to try turning that off and see if it makes any difference.

Re: Missed Calls

Yes I’m going to give this a try and see what happens. It doesn’t seem to happen with my wife’s mobile just mine but I’ll give it a go and see what happens.

Re: Missed Calls

I checked this on the landline and nothing has been set up but there is a possibility this is in the background actually.

As I said I had problems with BT getting everything changed over, at one point my DV wasn’t receiving calls but the old copper line was. This has since been sorted but I wonder whether BT have sent up something in the background linked to my mobile whilst they were sorting issues.

I’m waiting on them contacting me about the order still not being closed anyway so will bring this up with them then.
