Moving to Digital Voice/Full Fibre

Hi,

I am upgrading my broadband/phone to full fibre.

I currently have 3 phones (analogue)  in my home, one is plugged into the BT master socket and the other two work off a phone extension cable which is wired in to the BT master socket.  

My plan was to plug in a 2 way telephone splitter into the phone socket on the hub 2 then connect one phone to that connector and the other to a lead with a BT 4 wire 431A plug on one end to a 4 wire Male plug on the other end an insert that into the phone socket on the BT master socket. 

My understanding is that providing the old copper incoming phone line has been disconnected this should allow my existing internal wiring and extension phones to work ok.

Two questions:

1) Would that work ok?

2) Do Openreach remove the old BT master socket and replace it with the new wall connection for the fibre connection (if so my plan wont work). Or do they leave the old BT master socket intact?

Hope the above makes sense -any help/clarification appreciated.

Thanks Licquorice,

Just to clarify, re Q 2.  So Openreach leave the old BT socket intact and drill new holes in the wall etc?

The reason I ask is that after thinking about it it would make sense for them to use the existing entry point of the copper cable through my outside wall and remove the master socket.

Basically it is up for discussion with the engineer on the day what exactly happens.

the old master will remain so you can use that as suggested the ONT  may not necessarily be where existing master is now
