New Landline Phone

Go to solution

My Panasonic cordless landline phone is very old but still working. However, as I am ancient, I need a phone for an Oldie, with louder volume controls and large buttons ec. I like a similar Panasonic landline phone that comes complete with answer machine and large buttons etc. I cannot discover when BT plan to change whatever it is now (!!)  to something different (!!!!). I know January 2027 is the final completion plan and I shall probably not be here then. So......would you go ahead and buy the new phone, or would you not? Cost would be around £35 so it's not expensive.

My thanks for your advice.

if and when you are moved to Digital Voice (the new thing) your new phone if you decide to buy will still work even after the changeover.  so up to you whether you want to purchase a new phone or stick with your Panasonic which will also work after changeover

Any new landline style phone you can buy today will work after you are moved onto BT Digital Voice , the phone you already have will work too, you don’t need any special equipment for DV , standard corded or cordless phones are compatible , obviously if you need big buttons or extra volume getting a phone with those features  now will be fine going forwards
