For some time now we have had a problem with our house phone not receiving any calls and unable to call out to any number and didn't notice until people told us they could not call us. Ringing through to a mobile does not get through to it at all and mobile shows no caller/calling display while we try. Ringing from a mobile causes the phone to show caller ID of that number, but upon answering on the house phone it has no effect as the mobile states it's still ringing while the call timer ticks on the house phone.
Redial to that mobile leads to constand clicking sounds from the phone handset, about 2 per second in a rythm.
We have tried with another phone plugged in instead, a much older one and does not have a dial tone or any sound through the handset at all.
Broadband is fine though with no problems and payments are still clear for the phone package, I checked on account details and phone line package is still active.
Any ideas what it could be? Nothing changed when it was working from when it stopped. I have not yet reported as a fault as I thought I would ask here as it could be something I could solve being and internal problem.
