No Link to base. Please check base

Go to solution

Hi all,

I have a BT elements 1K, which stopped working yesterday with the message "No Link to base. Please check base".

I have removed the battery and unplugged the station for ten minutes.

I've tried re-regsitering the handset too.

Is there anything else i can try, or ist dead? It is a few years old.

Many thanks in advance for any advice

You could try a rest of the handset as per the bottom of p.17 of the manual.

Sadly due to poor design, you need a connected handset to do the same with the base.

Have to tried moving them closer together? Have you added any other wireless devices that could be interfering?

With a single handset there's no way of knowing whether the problem is with the base or the handset. Only other thing I can suggest is trying to register the handset on a friends base station. Doesn't have to be the same model just to register. That would at least tell you which part is faulty.

I sorted it! Thanks for advice.
I registered the handset to a different base, then de-registered it, which allowed me to register with the original base.
