No incoming calls on landline

Hi, hoping for some advice/help please? Changed my 93 year old mums landline contract over to BT digital voice, from TalkTalk a couple of months ago. After initial problem of zero connection for a full week, everything was fine for several weeks. However for the past 3 weeks she has been unable to receive incoming calls. Despite hours and hours of calls to BT and an engineers visit, we are no further forward. I’m repeatedly assured it’s being escalated and I’ll receive updates but receive none. I called again today and spoke to Lucy in technical support, who told me it’s a porting issue and it’s now with open reach. She said it was a problem with TalkTalk not releasing port which I disputed because line was working perfectly until 3 weeks ago. Said nothing BT can do except chase it up. I’m now told online tech support will be “looking at it” by 24th August! This will be 4 weeks with no incoming calls - I’m at my wits end because I live some distance from my mum and her landline is the only means of communication. She wants me to move her back to TalkTalk but I’m worried this will cause further problems. For various reasons she’s unable to use a mobile hence my post for any advice/help. Thank you.
