Porting number to VoIP provider

Wondering if anyone can answer I have full fibre broadband and digital voice. I want to port my phone number to an alternative VOIP provider so I can get a better deal and use on mobile. If I port the number will this cancel the broadband too.

On MyBT account they look separate but when you read providers sites most say porting cancels service without saying just phone.

Thank you

@Grumpywhale1

If you port out the number, it will cancel the broadband.

You can re-contract for broadband only, but you will lose your phone number.

@Grumpywhale1

There are other posts like yours and BT currently don't have a system in place that allows you to port your number to VOIP provider without cancelling existing broadband and phone contract and possibly incurring cancellation charges if still in contract term. Currently best time would be at end of fixed term contract.  You may be able to contact BT and see if you can negotiate a deal
