Hello,have recently upgraded to a digital type landline with digital voice device.we have started experiencing a what can only be described as a "pulsed dial tone has any one experiencing this,phone line appears to be OK.
have you checked to see if any message received in 1571

Dialtone can be altered to signify various things, interrupted dialtone ( so off , on , off , on ) tells you that incoming calls are on ‘divert’ , a modulated dialtone ( two tones ) indicates a message available on the answer service
