Re: Digital voice- no incoming calls

Go to solution

I've discovered that my 97 year old mother has been phoning us but couldn't get a reply. Seems our phone isn't accepting incoming calls. We only found this when mother had the good sense to contact another relation of ours. Obviously mother was panicking as she was worried something had happened to us.  We can make outgoing calls, but no incoming and I've found it impossible to get help from BT. because its after 9 pm. How sad that such a previous fantastic phone service has lost its way.

have you just recently been moved to DV or have you had DV working ok and this is a fault?  have you tried restarting the BT router but if that does not help you need to phone CS 03301234150.   the people phoning did remember to use the full number including area code?

If you're now on DV then sometimes older phones plugged into the hub (or indeed into remote adapters) don't ring when there is an incoming call. The call is coming through OK but just not ringing the phone.
If you still have one of the filters that were supplied for PTSN (non DV) telephone lines, try plugging that into the hub or adapter socket and then plug your phone into that. That can provide the signal for the phone to ring.
