Hi,
We are moving over to digital voice soon and from my limited knowledge we will no longer require the wall box, as the phone plugs direct into the router?
Our wall box is in a really stupid place in the window sill and is affecting having a new blind fitted.
When we switch over I assume the box will become total redundant, so can we remove it and cut the wires from the out side going to it and seal up the hole in the wall?
Thank you

The master socket 5c yes is for the phone but depends on the type of broadband you have its needed for that as well.
If you do not have full fibre then you will need it for the broadband and while the phone will plug into the router the broadband cable will stay where it is, this is the grey or black cable which plugs into the grey socket marked broadband.
Thank you so much for your time.
It has to stay 😢
You can request that it be moved but it will be chargable and won't be cheap.
If the OP is getting DV, won't he be on full fibre?
No
You don't need FTTP for DV all you need is a broadband connection ADSL/VDSL/FTTP
Thanks for that - I didn't know. I got full fibre and DV came with it, so I just assumed....Is the phone connection more stable with FTTP? I must say that mine is wonderful (I bought two BT digital phones and they work flawlessly).
