Can I remove this socket easily in my own?

that looks like just an extension socket and master socket must be elsewhere.  extension sockets are responsibility of homeowner so you can remove if you want - you won't get electrocuted

That appears to be an extension socket rather that a master socket ,so removal should not be an issue , obviously if the cable is still connected at the master socket consumer panel ( assuming it’s was originally provided correctly ) and you don’t intend to recover the cable as well as the socket, make sure the remaining cable is left with no ‘short circuits’ on it .
