Strange behaviour of Caller Line ID on Siemens Gigaset handset with Digital Voice.

A good few years ago I bought a Siemens Gigaset cordless telephone which has provided good service up until

Digital Voice arrived here.

Up until then, the caller line ID worked fine. From DV day (Friday) it just shows 'External Call'. 

I also have a BT Decor 2600 corded phone which has no problem in showing the CLID, both plugged into the hub or into the DV adapter.

I wonder if any contributors might be able to explain this quirk? Has there been a change in the specifications of CLID in the past few years, especially with regards to how the SH2 mimics an analogue line?
