I am 90 yrs old and have had limited contact from BT. I have called them on several occasions but often get cut off after waiting for ages. I understand that a switchover to digital is going to happen, but I have not been informed when
I do not have broadband and therefore no router, I am also reliant on a telephone Care System which I suspect will just fail to work
I spoke to a human being once at BT, and he didn't have a clue about the switchover which worried me.
Speaking to BT is near on impossible as their system is automated and send you a link to an unrelated topic.
As an elderly person, I feel I am being missed out, can anyone help please?
if you do not currently have broadband and only a home phone then you will be in last group to move to digital voice so I would not worry just now.
are you registered here https://www.bt.com/help/here-for-you
Don't fret, you will be sent whatever is required in time for the changeover, your existing service won't be disconnected until it is.
There is no reason why your care system should fail to work after changeover.
Welcome to the Community, @Gordon1935.
As the others have mentioned, you're definitely not going to be switched without warning, and we would supply you with everything you need prior to this.
I'm concerned to hear you've been struggling to get in touch with our team to query things though, so I've popped you over a private message so we can take a closer look.
