What/where is the 'BT Hub Base Pin' ?

Go to solution

I'm trying to install the BT Digital Voice Adaptor.

I've received a BT email saying my Digital Voice is active.

The leaflet says: If you've changed the base PIN on your hub from the default 0000, you will need to temporarily change it back.

So what/where is the 'BT Hub Base Pin' ?
And how do I know what it's currently set to?

Re: What/where is the 'BT Hub Base Pin' ?

Thanks for your reply:
However, I have allready read those posts and they don't answere MY question.

Like the orignal posters say, eg:

'...nowhere can I find any hints on how to access the "Base PIN".
...BTW we are NOT talking about the Admin password here...'

Or are we??

So what/where is the 'BT Hub Base Pin' ?
And how do I know what it's currently set to?

Many thanks

Try searching for "BT Hub phone 2.1 user manual" - I can't find it on a BT web site.

Within that search for System PIN - I think that is the information you may be looking for but since I don't have DV I can't actually test anything.

I have never heard of the base pin and in any event if there is one, if you have not changed it it will be the default one ie 0000

Never heard of such a thing.

Have you tried pairing the adapter using the WPS buttons (one on the hub and one on the adapter) as described here: BT Wi-fi – wi-fi your business can depend on

Did anyone actually answer the original question? I have the same problem where I’ve set my own 4-digit PIN, but need to reset it back to 0000 for pairing a Digital Voice Adapter , but can’t find the option

DECT system pins are set by handset & it looks like DV is no different:

Changing the system PIN

Some settings changes might ask you to type in your PIN before you save your changes. Here’s how to change the PIN:

1 In Settings, scroll to DECT settings and press Select.

2 When you see Change system PIN, press Select again.

3 You’ll then be asked to enter your old PIN. If you didn’t set one, it’ll be 0000. If you did, add the old one and press Select.

4 Type in the new PIN and press Select to save.

Re: What/where is the 'BT Hub Base Pin' ?

Iv'e  had nothing but agro trying to pair digital voice adaptors to my Smart hub 2 I looked everywhere to find the answer

but finally worked it out the instructions say that your base pin should be 0000 but i never realised that when I changed my hub password and admin password this would change this pin  I never did find the place in the hub manager to change the pin. However If you log into the hub 192.168.1.254   and the click on youe phone number  on the left

the screen shows up  with  the status of your digital voive line with the phone number and the configuration status .

This is only if the service has been activated by BT On the top right under the word back it says reset base settings

clicking on this does not reset the hub to factory reset status it will however reset the base pin back to default .

I did this and the two digital voice adaptors paired within seconds following the instructions to press the WPS button

Hope this helps . Of course if you never change the hub wifi password or admin password  you should be able to pair the adaptors without any problems .
