The e-mail I received advising of the switch includes:
'We're moving you on to our Digital Voice service. It should start within 48 hours of 03 Mar 2022.
Even though your phone service is changing to Digital Voice, your phone number and contract will stay the same.'
There was an earlier e-mail warning of the upcoming change, which I didn't keep.
The text may well have changed but if you receive anything substantially different, or as uninformative and poorly written as the one you quoted from, I'd treat it with suspicion.
If you are on FTTC then the change to DV could happen anytime, you don't have to wait for FTTP. Also you won't have a choice as to when it happens.
Unfortunately you don't get a choice. Even if you're on FTTC, they will move you to DV. They will send you a new smart hub 2 & it all goes downhill from there on, if it's anything like my experience! Note that you will no longer have your old 'landline' so if you had that in case of power cuts, you will no longer have that back up. And..... if there is a power cut, you'll lose wifi anyway & will have to rely on having a decent mobile signal.
the whole thing of this is this if this is done renotely then why is telling me i need to book a visit 2 within 2 weeks afer i recieve a refrence number
@Groo Yawn, all been said a million times before.
@shakey1981 either you are moving to FTTP at the same time or it's a scam.
I can now see the images attached to message 1 , ( I don’t know why I can now see them when previously they were not visible , but at least I know what you are referring to )
Those images refer to communications sent to those BT customers selected to be offered a change to FTTP at the same time as migration to DV , you say FTTP isn’t available in your location , so either FTTP is available, and you are mistaken that it isn’t ( where are you checking for FTTP availability ? ) or BT have sent you the wrong communication as you can’t be converted to FTTP , or it’s a scam (unlikely) or you are classed as ‘vulnerable’ and BT have decided you likely need help in connecting to DV , basically connecting the phone to the hub (again unlikely and I doubt they would use the same type communication as the offer to convert to FTTP at the same time as DV ).
Part of the confusion is you were asked if you had instigated the correspondence or had been in touch with BT , you said No , but you also posted this , and this could be seen when the images couldn’t,
Absolutely, you do not need to do anything now, So, this is a general
update that has been sent to you. Currently, as we can see in the account, that
there is no order open for the Digital voice migration and you still have PSTN
landline services in the account. We assure you that at the time of migration,
we will send you all the updates and will make all the arrangements for you
regarding this.
So what’s that if not a reply to you asking what the other communication was about .
Still being unpleasant, aren't you.
