pay as you go

Go to solution

currently have broadband halo 3+ with digital voice. Also 700 minutes calling plan.

Can I stop the 700 minute plan as barely use the phone but sometimes receive incoming calls so need the landline.

If so do I need to to onto pay as you go?

Thanks Jules

Hi @polish   You can move to pay as you go by following the upgrade path on My BT. I’m on 700 minutes and the cost for pay as you go for me is £2 a month.

Re: pay as you go

The effective cost of 700 mins can be £3 , the difference between stand alone broadband and broadband with PAYG calls is £5/ month , the difference between stand alone broadband with a 700 mins calls allowance is £8 ( so £3 more ) , PAYG still represents a saving , so if no calls are made , or very few , then PAYG can be worthwhile, but it’s a £3 saving ( not £8 ) with any calls made ( apart from 0800 type calls ) being charged for at 20.9ppm.

We recon we hardly use the landline phone but still managed to rack up 80 mins in the last month. It's worth checking how many minutes on average you use before going for pay as you go.
