Hello
I cannot set up a reminder call with Digital Voice!
Has this option gone?
Geoff
Solved! Go to Solution.
It was an exchange equipment software feature, so its now gone.
Thanks Keith,
Would have been better if that had been made clear !
BT lists what is possible but not what they have removed!
Cheers
Geoff
It was an easy enhancement to the exchange equipment software, which made BT some money at the time, without tying up the exchange links. Now people have mobile phones with alarm features, its somewhat redundant, and would be costly to implement on an IP based system.
Ok!
cheers
Geoff
@Keith_Beddoe I realise that you're an ex-BT engineer and am grateful for your insightful posts, but you shouldn't make sweeping statements like this.
Virgin Media's Fibre Phone service does offer Reminder Call, using the same *55* code. This somewhat contradicts your assertion that it is too costly to implement this feature using an IP-based system.
Even in this day and age, many people value the reliability of the Reminder Call service. I do shift work and rely on it to set all my wake-up calls for the week ahead (option *56*) and not have to worry about them. A mobile phone or traditional alarm clock can let you down, but a call from your phone provider won't. I'll be gutted to lose that and might even move to Virgin (although they currently only offer the *55* option).
