BT HUB 2 & Asus GT-AX6000

Can anyone give me an idiots guide in how to set up an Asus GT-AX6000 to work with my Hub 2?

I am getting a red wan light on the AX6000 white on everything else but cannot connect to the router using the android app or via the address bar.  I have had FTTP bar on and off and I can connect to both the hub 2 and the Asus_E0 via WiFi but not cabled.   I do have a cable connecting both WAN ports on HUB2 and AX6000.

What broadband service do you have, what EXACTLY are you trying to achieve.

You can't connect 2 WAN ports together.

Re: BT HUB 2 & Asus GT-AX6000

It sounds like the Asus is going to be a client device that is wired into the BT Hub.

If the BT Hub is the main router connected to the Internet then that means there should be an Ethernet cable from the ONT (in the case of Full Fibre) or the Master socket (in the case of FTTC) being connected into the WAN port of the BT Hub.

Then you need to connect an ethernet cable from a LAN port (for clients) on the BT Hub into the WAN port of the Asus (the incoming internet port).

Any further client devices, extenders, mesh systems, etc could be connected into the client LAN ports of either the BT Hub or Asus accordingly.

Re: BT HUB 2 & Asus GT-AX6000

Thank you both.   As you may have guessed I know nothing about internet, WAN, Ethernet and the like. As soon as I was informed that you do not plug a WAN to a WAN I was up and running and all is well. My aim was to improve my WiFi which was helped greatly with WiFi 6, mission accomplished.
