BT Halo HUB-Device Speed Difference

Sorry, something came up and I’ve been away all day.

Anyway, glancing over what’s become a busy thread, I would point out that if you’re that bothered about maximum performance cat 6 cable would be better.  Even when you get 866 Mb/s with Wi-Fi, the overheads are lower with cable, giving a better throughput.

No not really, but i hoped it would improve reception in other rooms, but it hasn't

I need it in other rooms, including upstairs, running cables isn't really viable

checked on EE web site, the package with the 7 hub is £30 a month more

BT EE and Plusnet are one and the same. If you're happy with the BT package and price then simply replace the BT router with the EE router. In a instant you've gone from wifi 5 to 6 with all the benefits that brings 

Wifi 7 is nice but it costs but again you buy them on e bay for around £65.

As I previously said, increasing broadband speed to the router will not make any difference to the WiFi speeds you get around your house.
If they are unacceptably too low in other rooms, you need a WiFi mesh system to provide a strong signal with the same SSID throughout, provided by strategically placed mesh transmitter units.

I’m waiting for BT to  send me the discs and I will order a 7 hub.

Are the EE 7 routers locked to EE, and will not work on BT?

As mentioned beforehand, no difference whatsoever between BT EE and Plusnet. 

The EE router is simply plug and play.

BT black discs only work with the smart hub 2.

The will definitely not work with any other router
