Re: BT Hub 2 remains Blue but no internet via cat 5 cable or wi fi

We are not talking dealership, we are talking user forum.

I once asked a question about a BMW on a BMW forum, got no Reply. I asked the same question on the forum of a now as it was then, defunked brand and got the answer. The knowledge of people often spans all sorts of divided.

Take for example the 13 pin towing socket of a car, a BMW. Do the 13 pins on a BMW do the same task as the pins on the back of Saab, Toyota, Mercedes?  Yes.

Now I can't seem to quote.

Is Openreach part of BT Group?

Is EE part of BT Group?

Have any staffed moved between any BT Group company?

I think the answer to all 3 questions is the same, yes.  You are correct, they are all part of the same group.

A  penny to a pound, share save schemes, pension will be the same one for some of the BT Group companies.  You may well lose your pound on that one and even if the do what has that got to do with getting you problem fixed.

Who do the CEO's of EE and Openreach report to?  Totally irrelevant to your problem but hear you go. https://www.bt.com/about/bt/our-board

I look at them as one, if EE does not fix my fault, why is it not down to Openreach, they are the engineers? If you look on them as one why did you pick BT residential forum and not the EE forum which is the company you are paying your money to. Seems very odd to pick a company that have no access to your broadband account or anyway of initiating a repair of any description in order to get your problem solved but keep trying and let us know how you get on.

This is digressing the original post.

You are totally missing the point that we are pointing you in the right direction to get your problem fixed.

Did you also post your problem on the Sky, Virgin, Vodafone etc forums and if not why not if as you say "The knowledge of people often spans all sorts of divided."

OK, this thread seems to cover the same problem.

https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Broadband-Landline/Partial-Broadband-Dropouts/td-p/1526894/page/2

It seems to suggest a problem with the v0.44 firmware but as some of the exchange was via PMs I’m not sure what the resolution was.  Might be worth posting @JimM11 as he seemed to have the solution.  I do post on the EE forum from time to time, (under a different handle), and JimM11 has been useful to me in the past.

The answer to you first sentence has already been explained.

This is I thought a user forum, not a chat with Openreach staff, so I have not picked a company that has no access to my account.......... to get my problem solved. I have come to what I thought was a user forum.

I am at a loss as to why  I am being pushed so much to an EE forum as my hub is a BT Hub and a Line provided by and maintained by Openreach.  I could ask on an EE forum but no one here has explained why this forum cannot help with a BT Hub and Openreach line.  That I find disappointing.

If people have no ideas why a BT hub would remain Blue yet not provide a wi fi signal good enough for everything but Alexa to work, so be it but me, I see little relevance to me being an EE customer.

In the meantime, perhaps if you posted the information requested it might help.

You are currently not posting any information that would assist either forum in helping with your problem.

I have no idea why you think it is more relevant to post on an entirely different forum rather than your ISP forum, but hey ho.

Thank you WSH, that is helpful. Something for me to follow up on.

As far as I understand the only question I have not answered is "What do the stats on the SH2 say about the connection?"    I thought I needed to answer that once I lost my internet, not now. I think my lap top can still see my hub when there is no internet. Please advise on this bit, thanks.

AS for you not having an idea why I posted here, please read my replies as it has been explained.
