As BT never supply change notes, who knows.

"Are there any other known changes in this newest firmware (Firmware version:v0.46.02.10311-BT)"

The only other one I've noted is the (rather irritating) new requirement to input the Admin Password to navigate to ANY part of the Hub Manager other than the opening page. Previously you only needed to input this password to access the "Advanced Settings" page.

Re: BT Hub Manager

@Wilf21   BT never explain what they have “fixed/improved”.

The trouble is, there are that many hubs that it takes time for the update to filter down to all users.  And even then, you’re likely to get a significant number of hubs that have not been updated.  Publishing what changes you’ve made just gives the bad boys a guidebook as to what to attack on the ones that have not been updated.

It’s exactly the same reason why no one give proper error messages anymore.  Now you just get nonsense like “Oops, something went wrong!”.  You have to be on the inside to see the real error messages as it can give away too much information.

I like that the phone number is now hidden until you login, but my biggest gripe is that there is still no proper logout.  A time out is always useful for if someone forgets but I like to be sure I’ve logged out of something when I’ve finished.

Re: BT Hub Manager - recent changes

Just slightly changing the subject but still regarding recent changes, I noticed on BT Hub Manager that the security has changed from WPA2 to WPA3 - Personal. I don't really understand this, but what I have noticed that a lot of my devices on my network, seem to be having problems connecting to the network, not least of all my BTWholeHome mesh set up. Is anyone else having this problem.

Interesting.  It doesn't seem to have been changed on mine.  Are you sure it's not the device that's asking for WPA3 rather than the hub?

We are talking about v0.46.02.10311 aren't we?

I've never looked into it in any depth, but I would expect a change like that to required a new chipset.

Not really all that technically minded, so not sure if it's the devices that are asking for WPA3, but I wouldn't think so as on the Hub manager page it states WPA3-Personal, so I just sort of guessed that the Hub manager is now set to WPA3.

Where do I find the v0.46 etc that you mention ?

Mine still says WPA2 and I note that WPA3 is not an option.     In any case I keep my wireless switched off as I use Whole Home WiFi discs.

Firmware version:

It's stated on the hub manager home page under "Firmware version", and we are talking about the Smart Hub 2 here.

Firmware version:

r3.8.26-R-1595999-PROD-83002 - This is a screenshot of my version..... doesn't appear to be anything like others.

No, Smart Hub 3

Ah, fair enough.

As I said, different hardware.  I wouldn't expect that to appear on the SH2 as it doesn't have the wherewithal.

If your devices can't cope with it just put the hub back on WPA2.  So long as you are using a long enough password, it's still perfectly secure enough for home use.
