Thanks, that was what I was thinking, but wasn't sure about the safety aspect. I think a call to BT might well be in order.

If your comment 'Why' relates to why a call to BT, then I want to find out why they suddenly make these changes without informing anyone and advising the customers what the consequences might impact on said customers.

All they have done is implemented the possibility to use WPA 3 if you have devices that support it. If not, they will simply use WPA2. 

I assume you are a business customer as there is no residential Hub3.

Yes, I am a business customer, a one man band working from home.  If they have implemented the possibility to use WPA3, why have they just implemented it without advising of the change, why not leave it as it was and say the option is there if you require it. I haven't a clue if any of my devices support WPA3 and wouldn't know where to start looking. As for simply 'they will use WPA2' , I don't think they do as it seems that message hasn't got through to my devices.

Storm in a teacup. They have implemented an improvement in wireless security you can use if you wish if you have devices capable. If all your devices only support WPA2, nothing changes for you.

You have discovered it is available rather than BT actually telling you it is available.

There is no WPA3 on the latest Smarthub2 firmware and BT do not give users any information on any firmware updates on the BT Hubs.

If you are a BT Business customer using the BT Business Smarthub you would be better posting your question on the BT Business Forum at Home - BT Business Community where you may get answers to your questions.

However I suspect that you will get no further information than has already been posted on this thread as regards devices using WPA3. 

I doubt that any change on your BT Hub would have defaulted to using WPA3 exclusively if for no other reason than that would "knock off" any devices that could not use that protocol which would undoubtedly be the vast majority of devices presently being used not just by you but by world wide users of wireless devices.

If the BT Business hub now has the WPA3 option it will be just that... an option not mandatory and unless you decide to use it if your devices that can support it the devices that do not support it will just happily connect using WPA2.

It's a BT Hub3 and I can assure you, when I looked, it had defaulted to WPA3.
