BT Hub keeps asking for my password

Go to solution

Why do I have to keep re-inputting my BT hub password?  It happens on my MacBook and iPhone, but not every day.  Is the signal weakening?

@ThatJanet

Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.

Try a factory reset of the home hub.

Also turn off Private Addressing  (MAC Randomisation) on both devices, for your own BT WIFI connection, as that can cause issues.

Do you actually mean hub password or do you mean WiFi password?

You always need to enter the password to access advanced settings

No, this is just to get Wi-Fi access to the internet.

Sigh, so the WiFi password, not the hub password

SIGH, no, there is no connection until I input the wireless password on the little plastic tab on the back of the hub. Otherwise called the hub password. This has only recently started doing this.

There are 2 separate passwords, one for the hub management page and one for the WiFi connection. Hence my question which one you are being asked for.

The WiFi password is not the hub password.

Are you entering the correct password? Have you tried a factory reset of the hub?
