Hiya,
Because today BT brilliantly decided to completely remove broadband from our package whilst trying to sort something completely different, we now have to internet until god knows when, and also, no tv.
We are being sent the 4g mini hub I think it was called. Obviously we can use this with our phones etc, but will be be able to connect that to the BT tv box pro so we can watch tv as that box supports Wi-Fi connections where the older boxes didn’t? Hopefully we can. With a young child and no broadband or tv it’s a bit of a nightmare. If anyone knows the answer it would be handy. The hub is hopefully turning up tomorrow.
Thanks in advance
As far as I'm aware you connect the mini -hub to your Smart Hub and the Pro Box connects to the Smart Hub as usual. So yes, it should work
Is that how it works? I didn’t even think about it working that way. I thought the 4g hub would just act as the router
Naa it's just a data gateway that your hub uses instead of the broadband
Do you (or did you) have BT Halo @BenMitchell ?
I'm not a broadband guru and @NigelB72 may well be correct, but I always thought there were 3 options:
This is the 4G hub with Halo 3+ (referred to as Hybrid Connect), that is linked to the Smart Hub:
This is a 4G Mini Hub that is a standalone device:
I don't actually know if the 4G Mini Hub can handle TV for a BT TV Box Pro, but you should still be able to access channels by using the apps on the box and plugging an aerial in if you have one.
