I have BT Broadband which includes access to 'Free access to 5 million BT Wi-fi hotspots ' which I have been using via the BT WiFi App which whilst not consistently connecting to hotspot did work.
Recently the app kept crashing so I removed and reinstalled it on a samsung s21+ phone. I can no longer log in. The message is ‘! Service problem, sorry our systems are very busy right now, please try again later.’
I have also tried a Samsung S24+ and a tablet.
This has now been going on for a week so I cannot believe the service has been constantly busy for that time.
The BTWifi app no longer works.
BTWifi has been replaced with EE Wifi.
There is no app to log on. You have to select the EEWifi hotspot and a log on page will pop up.
You use the same logon detsils as you did on BTWifi.
Which of course restricts access to only the account holder, as you would not want to pass on login details to other family members, as it would be the same as giving away your account details.
I wonder if its been done that way to prevent sharing, as in the app you could save the login details for others to use, without them being able to view it?
