Blink Doorbell

Go to solution

My partner got one of these video doorbells, it works except the live feed just buffers. It’s supposed to go to their cloud servers but it’s getting jammed I would say. She has an Amazon echo dot and the feed is live on its Alexa app which is local to her WiFi. I tried it at my place, I’m on Zen and it worked perfectly, she is on bt fibre with a smart hub 2. I’ve went into every setting I think inc those via the bt app, with no joy. It appears to me that bt is blocking it going out, her upload speed is also poor, 4/5 mbs. Had bt guy out but he couldn’t sort it and only commented on the download speed which is about 35mps.

Hi @Kineto

Switching the wireless mode could help here.

Mode 2 is a good option to try, as it can improve stability and keep the doorbell connected, even if speeds are slightly lower.

Let us know how you get on.

Nope, it  didnt change anything, its not the wifi.

Blink doorbells and presumably cameras go through a sync module that I believe sends the video data to their cloud server and then back to their app. I suspect that there is something perhaps not in the router blocking that return video stream. As i said with Zen it works perfectly.
