Buying Hub 2 extra discs?

Hi all,

I have bt broadband with a Hub 2 router (no extra discs)

I currently have the wifi turned off on my hub2, and use a Tenda 3x cube mesh wifi. But it drops off so much - I wanted to try BTs own wifi discs.

I don’t want to upgrade to the halo package - I have no EE signal round my house, and you can only order “1 disc, then have to contact support to get an additional 2x discs”. I know I need 3 - as 3 Tenda cubes just about covers my house, (3x floors, 6 beds)

I looked on google - and see you can buy bt discs, but are they for an old set up?

id like to just buy a set of 3x bt discs that work with my Hub 2, where the hub also acts as a wifi repeater, as well as the 3 discs.

Only the black 'Complete WiFi' discs form a mesh with the Smart Hub2. The white 'Whole Home ' discs  don't.

Have BT locked their smarthub2 to only work with the discs from them???

I can see second-hand black complete wifi discs on eBay. 

i would prefer to just buy a set of 3x new ones from BT, but it looks like they are actually hard to buy new.

No, it's the reverse, the black discs only work with the SH2 as they form a WiFi mesh and don't require an Ethernet connection to the hub as the white discs do.
