Hi,
Since installing my new BT homehub and phone adapter, I have found that the throughput of the internet is poor. The BB speed is reported as 59Mbs in the hub admin, is only actually 45Mbs when tested with Ookla (why do BT lie about speeds? but I have to wait5 secs or more for the 'wheel' to stop spinning and the site to appear.
I re-installed my Archer VR2100 and the throughput increased to less than 1 sec to display a website, perfect. I then tried to pair the phone adapter, no luck.
1. Is it possible to fix this or has BT tied the adapter down to only the BT Home Hub? This was not explained when I purchased the service and will restult in my cancelling the contract.
2. Can the slow throughput of the BT Home Hub be fixed. Also note you cannot change the DNS settings from BT's to Google for better performance. BT should really be thinking of its customers needs, not theirs.
Regards (and very annoyed)
Gary

Digital Voice only works with the SH2.
DVAs pair to a DECT base in the SH2, not over WiFi, so will never connect to your router. Not that it would work anyway.
Maybe download a WiFi analyser to check for competing channels from neighbours. It may simply be that your router is using different channels.
If you go back to Plusnet for broadband you will have to use a third party VOIP provider for the phone as Plusnet are now broadband only.
Yep , same as Sky and Vodafone, if you want to use their branded telephony , you use the supplied router , don’t want to use the supplied router , don’t take the optional phone service ( there is no compulsion to take telephony from BT with BT broadband )
TBH , this subject has been widely discussed, if you weren’t aware that BT DV uses BT SH2 router , and any free BT ‘kit’ is for use with other BT kit , that’s hardly BT’s fault ,
FWIW , Plusnet almost certainly won’t offer you telephony ( they are becoming a broadband only ISP ) if that’s fine , you really don’t need telephony, why have you taken it with BT , if you do need telephone, all the big brands that offer it require you to use their router , and Plusnet won’t have what you need .
Probably best to resolve the SH2 issue because as above, you'll find the same issue wherever you go.
Start by testing with a device connected by ethernet.
You need to understand that BT test the speed to the router, as they have no control beyond that.
