Got BT Fibre 100 with Smart Hub 2 at the moment and I would like replace it with Vigor 130 (later Vigor will work as bridge which will be connected to pfsense but at the modem it will be as modem only).
I cant connect magange to have connection.
Online Status > State is in a loop TRAINING > READY > FAIL
I use latest BT firmware. Tried older BT and non-BT firmwares and with the results.
Any idea where is the issue?
Thanks
I think you need VDSL not ADSL.
Edit: In fact, Fibre 100 must be FTTP? Not sure the Vigor 130 can do FTTP.
If you have FTTP the ONT is a modem. You don't need the Vigor to connect to your PfSense amd you can't connect 2 modems together in any case..
If you wish to use the Vigor as a router (why????) then you need to connect the ONT to the WAN port.
If you have G.Fast, the Vigor isn't G.Fast compatible and won't work.
I seem to recall the 130 is only a DSL modem. It doesn't have a WAN port and I'm also pretty sure it doesn't do routing. If this is FTTP then it's probably better employed as a paperweight. Might be wrong, of course, as I've never used one.
I dont have FTTP.
On the wall/box socket says G.Fast so it looks like Vigor 130 is not compatible with G.Fast
In that case any suggestions what modem to get?
BT Openreach MT992, Vigor 166?
PS. Thank you guys for super fast replies.
As far as I'm aware, there are only 3 third party G.Fast compatible devices. The 2 you have mentioned and a Zyxel modem/router that can be configured in bridge mode. I can't remember the exact model, but I'm sure Google will.
Yeah there's only a very select number of modems available that support G.Fast unfortunately so best check which standard and protocols they support before buying - e.g I believe g.fast is referred to as ITU-T G.9700, G.9701
If you want Draytek, it's the 166.
Depending on your budget. https://www.draytek.com/products/vigor2766/#!
