We have a Smart hub 2, Fibre 2, cable coming into the living room.
My gf is working from home in the back room, kitchen and bathroom in between.
She was getting a low wireless speed in her room so I put a wifi extender in but occasionally this will drop and needs to be restarted which is not the thing she wants to be doing when in the middle of working and I'm not here all the time.
Is there a better way of doing this? Can I get the fibre moved to her room? Are the halo extenders reliable?
Thanks, Mike
If your GF work device has a wired ( Ethernet ) connection, rather than connecting wirelessly ( WiFi ) use a wired connection from one of the SH2 Ethernet ports , if running a cable from the SH2 to the WFH device isn’t practical, you could try powerline type adapters
Wireless only mate
Should have mentioned I installed Mercusys AC1200 mesh system.
On the whole it's OK but occasionally drops to really slow and the only way to sort it is restart the main Mercusys host box. Fine, but today it went down and I had to turn off all the Mercusys boxes and reconnect them to get the speed back up. My GF wont/cant want to be doing that regularly when in the middle of work.
I understand the BT one is quite good but at the end of the day anyone of them can fail and need restarting, right?
