I was going to leave BT as my contract ends in April but opted to stay as EE are coming hopefully to install full fibre to my property next week. Meanwhile, the new hub has arrived and I also have a landline which is going digital I understand.
I am not in the least bit technical, so my question is, am I supposed to do anything with the new hub or can I just leave it until the engineer arrives? Thank you
Solved! Go to Solution.
I would leave your new HUB until the activation date, it will be Openreach who will be installing the full fibre and the hub can't be fully set up till then and the Openreach engineer I would expect will hook it up to make sure you have a connection working.
All you would need to do though is plug the red cable to the red port or the one marked as WAN and plug that to the white "ONT" which Openreach will install then connect your device up with the username / password as you usually would (along with the power cable as usual). For digital voice the phone plugs into the green port on the back of the hub.
Any confusion after the engineer has been give EE a call and they will be able to answer any questions
Brilliant, thank you. I was just worried he would have expected me to do something, but that is great.
