I have recently changed my BT password and since then I have been unable to send or receive emails on my iPad. I have followed all suggestions on BT website, including deleting and reinstalling the account, but this has not been successful. Having deleted the account and reinstalled I can’t now access any of my previous emails! So now in a worse position than before.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BTPremium email account?
Are you able to send and receive emails if you use BTMail webmail (Using a web browser)?
Why did you change your password?
