Ethernet to BT cable connection

I seem to recall that the old 100baseTX used pins 1, 2, 3 and 6 only but I’m reaching into the dim and distant past now so I might be wrong.

From what I've learnt from reading and from what you guys are saying, the best way to complete this mission is to run another Cat 6 cable from the garage to the house....and guess what - the Cat 6 cable I have isn't external so off to buy some external Cat 6 cable this morning.

2 pairs are required for both 10Mb/s and 100Mb/s Ethernet.

Gigabit Ethernet requires 4 pairs.
