Faulty BBU?

Go to solution

Problem: can't get my printer to connect to network.

Speed test done all ok

Openreach BBU has all three lights on (power, fault, charging)

Main unit has Power, PON, Port 1 lights on

Everything switched off & rebooted numerous times...printer still not connecting

Help please

Early generation ONT’s have a BBU ( battery backup unit ) for the short lived phone port on the ONT , it’s of no use , and isn’t the cause of you not being able to connect your printer ….if you would prefer the fault light on the BBU to not be lit , you could replace the rechargeable batteries , most though simply remove the power lead from the BBU and plug it directly into the ONT , basically removing the unnecessary BBU from the system
