Full fibre 100 ethernet cable to distant room

  • Hi, years ago I used to use power line plug in adapters to connect TV to internet via ethernet cable TV to ethernet port in powerline adaptor in a room furthest away from modem router. I now have Full Fibre 100 and whilst WiFi speed is good in that furthest TV room I'd like to connect Xbox by ethernet to internet rather than WiFi. What's the best way to do this? I can't run a cable through the house directly to the router. Is there anything like a powerline plug or WiFi extender for Full Fibre with ethernet port I can plug Xbox into? Thank you

Yes, exactly the same devices you used previously. They are totally agnostic to your broadband signal. Have a look at the Tp Link range https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/

Re: Full fibre 100 ethernet cable to distant room

  • Thank you. I don't really understand how these things work. I figured that using house electrics and powerline adaptors on my old 8mb interent package that by now using them on my Full Fibre 100 (I get 150mbs download) that the house electrics would be a big speed throttler if that makes sense and there may be another way of doing it. I'll take a look at your link. thanks again

There are really only 2 ways to do it, powerline adapters or running an Ethernet cable.

Yes, the quality of your house wiring will be a governing factor, but unless it is in extremely poor condition you should expect to achieve the full 150Mbps using powerline adapters.
